Many times, we start life with powerful beginnings. Majority start their year with so many resolutions, aspirations and promises.  However, it's important for us to note that the last chapter of a story is usually turbulent. It's just like those action movies we watch. It's towards the end of the movie that we get to see the real action and thrills. I know you might whisper in your mind that difficulties evolved from the early part of this year. That not withstanding, it doesn't mean you should rule out the likelihood of a positive outcome as the year comes to an end. Being a lampstand requires that you be a witness. A witness is one who validates the claim of another. We are witnesses of a message, a realm and the possibilities in God. Acts 1:8 You become an efficient witness when you have received the holy spirit. The goal of the holy spirit is to empower you for your assignment. You are not yet a witness until your voice is heard. You are the candle that looses itself that light may shine. That I may decrease.... A writer once told the story of one of his childhood experience. He used to love playing with butterflies.  One day, he watched a caterpillar shedding its cocoon. But it seemed to be having trouble and wasn’t making any progress.  So, in an effort to be helpful, he pulled out his pen knife and cut off the remaining pieces of the cocoon. But rather than emerging as a precious butterfly, the caterpillar quickly died. His grandfather explained to him that it needed to experience the struggle of moving through the cocoon to grow into a butterfly. SPIRITUAL GROWTH Hey there, it's a new week and we'll be wrapping up the series we've been on for a couple of days.  I would tag this as the most important area of life where you must be intentional about your growth. Reason being that growth in this area affects every other aspect of your life. As you walk closely with God, His presence will take away some characters from you by default.... those little comfortable lies would have to stop...those unhealthy desires would have to be forfeited. A house church in the former soviet union received a copy of the gospel of Luke. Since it was illegal to possess this scripture, they tore it to pieces and distributed it among the body of believers. Their plan was to memorize the portion they had been given, then on the next Lords day they would meet and redistribute the sections. It has almost become a tradition for us to go back memory lane on Thursdays, reminding ourselves of good old times and sharing nice pictures on social media. It's a good thing because they could help us get optimistic and get on our feet again. However, it's tragic that after such days some of us go back to worry and being pessimistic. A young farmer often had the challenge of getting a shade to rest after his daily farm work. He finally decided to plant a seed (oak) that would eventually germinate into a big tree so he could rest under it's shade subsequently. Few days later, he noticed a young paper birch shedding forth it's fresh leaves on his farm. He then aborted his previous plan of growing the oak tree. When this plant finally grew big, he began to enjoy it's shelter. However, the farmer knew that at the start of the summer, the plant would wither but he still did not do anything about his proposed oak tree. Summer came and his little shelter withered and he was back to square one. Now it was rather too late to for him to plant his oak because its season had gone... Sandra woke up to a bright morning sun so enthusiastic about the new skill she was going to learn; being a professional pianist would be cool, she thought. Diligence is steady application, and careful work involving long-term effort.
