DEALING WITH THE FLESH

Hello esteemed readers! Hope your week has been fruitful? Do take out time to digest this....
Galatians 5:17
 For the desires of the flesh are opposed to the [Holy] Spirit, and the [desires of the] Spirit are opposed to the flesh (godless human nature); for these are antagonistic to each other [continually withstanding and in conflict with each other], so that you are not free but are prevented from doing what you desire to do.


Over time, I discovered that the flesh never gets satisfied. You remember the old slang - oliver twist asks for more? Guess what that's a clear picture of how our flesh operates.
The scripture clearly explains that at all times, the flesh is always against the desires of the spirit.
If you want to live out the purposes of God and fulfill your God given assignment, you will always have to make decisions that would stretch your capacity and build your spirit man.

Haven't you noticed that it's when you decide to fast that you suddenly become so aware of the aroma of food coming from nearby. Or when you decide to have your night prayers that sleep comes knocking even though you could stay all night chatting or watching a movie without blinking your eyes.

The Bible says that living after the desires of the flesh brings death. Now this is not only about spiritual death but it includes the death of those dreams and aspirations.

Make up your mind to discipline yourself and live according to the principles of God's word, giving heed to the prompts of the Holy spirit and you'll be glad you did.


Romans 8:14 For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.
