SHE PROMISED, YET BROKE IT!

Aunty, I submitted my assignment on your table! I replied my class teacher loudly, as tears dropped my face.

It was a Tuesday morning and as usual, we were meant to submit our quantitative reasoning assignment immediately we left the morning assembly.

My teacher had gone through the books on her table, and she couldn't find mine, so she called me to inquire. With a very long cane in her hand, she asked me; Magdalene, where is your assignment??!

Well, just so you know I had searched my school bag on getting to the class, but I couldn't find it. I had probably left it at home due to the fact that mom took us out for school in a haste.

With so much fear in my heart as to what my teacher would do to me, I resolved to lying that I submitted my book.🌚🌚

My teacher took the pain of checking all the shelves where books were usually kept, but she couldn't find mine. Yet, I insisted that I submitted.

After all the frustration, she came to me with a cane in her hand, and she promised not to flog me, if I told her the truth. SHE GAVE ME HER WORD!

But, she broke it!😭 Immediately I confessed that I had forgotten my book at home, she began to lash me mercilessly with her very long cane. I cried and cried and cried....😭😭😭

Well, that's an interesting story from my childhood days. I decided to narrate it in order to portray the fact that many times, we fail to stand true to our word and promises.

Trust me, it's cool to live a life of integrity. Let men know that they can always count on you regardless of the situations at hand.

Hey! I'm not judging my teacher okay?

But the lesson for this lengthy write-up is that you should incorporate integrity to your lifestyle.

Most people have lost several opportunities in life, because people know them to be untrue to their words. Many have lost very valuable relationships due to their wavering tongue.

Integrity is like a currency. When people know you as a person of integrity, they will endorse you for many great opportunities.

Proverbs 11:3 The integrity of the upright shall guide them, but the wilful contrariness and crookedness of the treacherous shall destroy them.
