WHAT'S YOUR DEFINITION OF SUCCESS?
Here's a question for us this morning...
What's your definition of success? Kindly take out time to answer this genuinely in your heart.
I asked this question on my timeline few days ago and some responses are as follows:
- Success Is Movement And Progress toward A Goal.
- Success is the fulfilment of one's purpose✅✅✅
- Success is meeting targets either set by yourself or others.😊
Every one of these definitions are valid in some way, but true success shouldn't be tagged with only fulfillment of targets and goals.
Your success should be measured based on God's expectation and revealed plan for you.
Okay, I know you might feel I'm spiritualizing everything.. lol. But are we not spirit beings?
Now let's be balanced here, if you're destined by God to dominate the entertainment industry, and you end up being a good and influential writer, would you call it success? In the sight of God, were you successful?
Let's take a stroll into the scriptures, Christ told a parable of some servants who were gives talents to trade with and bring back profit.. One of them was unprofitable. I'm sure you know the whole story.
Your success shouldn't be defined based on comparisons, neither should it be defined based on the world's standards.
Was Jesus successful? I'm sure your answer would be yes.. And why is that? if I may ask. It's because He fulfilled His God-ordained assignment.
But then by the world's standards, He never had possessions, he died young, etc..
Note here that I'm not giving room for mediocrity all in the name of spirituality. But when doing a cross check on our accomplishments, our bench mark should be based on God's standards.
Thus you don't term yourself successful when you're outside God's plan for your life, irrespective of the millions of accomplishments or the place you occupy on Forbes list.
I know some may say that you can succeed in life without God but there is a vacuum that only God can fill.
Only God can give you peace and fulfillment.
The highest index for measuring wealth or relevance is peace.
The things worth living and dying for are your relationship with God, your family and the fulfillment of your assignment.
You greatest fulfillment will come knowing you have lived the purposes of God and blessed humanity because purpose gives value to everything in life.
In addition, choose impact over popularity.
Don't forget to drop your contributions and questions.

Have a great day.
