DEALING WITH BAD HABITS

Good evening fam, trust we're enjoying our Evening already?
Earlier this week, we talked about productivity and learning how to work at the right pace.
As promised, we'll be talking about how we could deal with unhealthy habits. We know quite well that habits like procrastination, laziness and nonchallant attitudes could stop us from being efficient at our post and point of duty.

Imagine if  you became so productive at work, or school or whatever craft you may have at hand, that people get to know you for your excellence and innovations. That would be a good identity don't you think??
I know you must be nodding your head right now but results like that do not happen by magic. Last week, we got to understand that people don't follow men, they actually follow results. So what could we do to erase habits that are stopping us from reaching the heights we intend to attain??
Follow me carefully, as I take you through this session of enlightenment...

Habits become hard to break because they are deeply wired, by constant repetition, into our brains. The first step you have to take is:

1. Define the concrete behavior you want to change or develop and have a substitute plan: this is very essential because you can't head to a destination that does not exist in your mind.
Breaking habits isn’t about stopping but substituting.

2. Get prompts: These are reminders to help you break the pattern by creating positive triggers and alerts to keep you on track. You can set daily alarms and give yourself deadlines. Don't leave any loose ends.

3. Get supports:
Get a running buddy, or someone you can call, or a community you can tap into when those cravings start to kick in and you are struggling.
Surround yourself with people who live the way you want to live. You don't need to ditch your old friends, but don't underestimate the power of finding some new ones. You need people as who are as visionary and motivated as you are.

4. Be persistent and patient: you have to keep reminding yourself of the future you want to create and the fact that you will go all out for it.
You need to  realize that it will take time for the new brain connections to kick in, for the old brain-firings to calm down, for new patterns to replace the old. Don’t beat yourself up for slipping or use them as excuses for quitting. Take it one step at the time.
Breaking bad habits takes time and effort, but most importantly, it takes perseverance. Most people who end up breaking bad habits try and fail multiple times before they make it work. You might not have your desired success right away, but that doesn't mean you won’t have it at all.

Take some time to reflect on this...and remember to drop your comments and contributions.
stay Safe.
