THE BIBLE

The bible is the book that contains the word of God, the state of man, the way of salvation, the doom of sinners and the happiness of believers.
It's doctrines are holy; its precepts are binding; its histories are true; its decisions immutable. Read it to be wise, behave it to be safe , and practise it to be holy.
It contains light to direct you, food to support you, comfort to cheer you. Its the travelers map, the pilgrims staff, the pilots compass, the soldiers sword, and the Christians charter. Here, heaven is opened and the gates of hell closed. Christ is its grand subject, our good urs design, and the glory of God its end. It should fill your memory, rule your heart and guide your feet in righteousness and true holiness.
Read it slowly, frequently, prayerfully, meditatively, searchingly, devotionally, and study it constantly, preservingly and industriously.
Read it through and through until it becomes part of your being and generates that faith that will move mountain. It involves the highest responsibility and will reward the least and will condemn all who truffle with its sacred contents.
