Praying is hard work; it takes diligence to live a life of prayer.
Basically, one major issue that has stopped believers from building their spiritual muscles in the place of prayer is time.

The secret of your future is hidden in your daily routine.
I remember what a friend told me when we were talking about prayer. She said she barely has enough time to pray. She wished she could be given extra time asides the usual 24hours.
Truth is that can't be possible. God knew 24 hours would be sufficient for us to do everything that needs to he done per day.
Those who have succeeded in raising a personal altar of prayer were also given 24hours. They prioritised their time.
The fact remains that you will always have time for what you love n things you value.
Learn to maximize your time.
You can pray as you walk, do chores, in your working place etc.
NB: if you're waiting for a comfortable condition before you'll build yourself spiritually, then be rest assured that you'll never be able to build yourself.
